San Francisco uses a 100-point deductive scoring system. Inspectors start at 100 and deduct points for each violation found. Scores are published on the city's open data portal but no letter grade posting is required. The numeric score itself is the public record.

City-county = single AHJ. No split jurisdiction. SFFD Fire Prevention: (415) 558-3300. San Francisco adopts CFC with extensive local amendments (San Francisco Fire Code). City-county unified government. SFFD Fire Prevention Division is sole AHJ for all commercial kitchens.
Hood Cleaning Standard
NFPA 96 Table 12.4 schedule: quarterly for high-volume/solid fuel cooking, semiannually for moderate volume, annually for low-volume/seasonal.
Suppression Inspection
UL-300 wet chemical suppression systems required for all commercial cooking hoods. Semiannual by licensed fire protection contractor.
