Numeric Scoring
Mason County follows WAC 246-215, the Washington State Food Code. Inspectors use a numeric evaluation system where violations are categorized as red (critical, 5 points each) or blue (non-critical, 2 points each). Total points determine whether a facility receives a blue (satisfactory) or red (unsatisfactory) placard.
