Operandio alternative

An Operandio alternative for the records someone will ask for

Operandio runs your checklists, temperature logs, prep labels and training. It does not hold the records the fire marshal, the health inspector, the insurance company and the property manager will ask you for. EvidLY holds those — fire and food, every vendor's paperwork, and what your insurance policy requires — sealed with the date each one was produced.

What Operandio does well

Operandio is a frontline operations app for multi-unit restaurants and franchise groups. It is good at the work of a shift.

  • Opening, closing and cleaning checklists on a phone or tablet
  • Temperature logs, with wireless sensors for cold and hot holding
  • Prep label printing
  • Store visits and brand-standard checks across locations
  • Staff training, quizzes and SOPs
  • Multi-location reporting for head office

If that is the problem you are solving, it is a fair choice. That is not the problem EvidLY solves.

Where it stops

None of the following is inside what Operandio describes. All of it is asked for.

  • The fire half. The hood cleaning certificate, the fire suppression service tag, the sprinkler inspection, the fire alarm test, the extinguisher tags — each with an interval and a due date.
  • Vendor paperwork. Each vendor's general liability certificate, workers' compensation certificate, license, business license and W-9. Five records per vendor, and they expire on the vendor's calendar, not yours.
  • The policy. The protective safeguards endorsement in your insurance policy names the systems you promised to keep in service. Nothing in a checklist app reads it.
  • The record itself. A completed checklist is a log. A sealed, dated document with a citation is evidence. They are not the same thing on the day someone asks.

What EvidLY does instead

Your hood cleaning service is overdue.
An employee's food handler card has expired.

EvidLY alerts you before that happens.

You usually find out something slipped after it's already cost you. EvidLY sees it coming — while it's still small and easier to manage.

Who will ask, and what they want

Fire Marshal

On inspection, by schedule. Wants the hood cleaning certificate and the suppression tag first.

Health Inspector

Unannounced. Wants the permit, the manager certificate, the handler cards and the temperature logs.

Insurance Company

At underwriting, at renewal, after a loss. Wants proof the protective safeguards were kept in service.

Property Manager

Day to day and every renewal. Wants the certificates the lease names and the maintenance it covenants.

Compliance Officer

Across every kitchen at once. Wants one place that answers for all of them.

Nobody asks for a record on a good day.

Leaving Operandio

If the reason you bought it was the records — the paperwork an inspector or an adjuster will ask for — EvidLY is the replacement. It holds the fire records Operandio never touched, the food records with the rule behind each, every vendor's paperwork, and it reads your policy.

Fire first, then food

Operandio, like every food safety checklist app, starts on the food side. EvidLY starts on the fire side, because the fire records are the ones with the shortest intervals, the strictest askers and the largest consequences — and they are the ones nobody else holds.

Questions people ask before switching

Is EvidLY an alternative to Operandio?

For the records, yes. Operandio runs daily checklists, temperature logs, labels and training. EvidLY holds the kitchen's fire safety and food safety records, collects each vendor's insurance and license records, and reads the conditions in your insurance policy. If you use Operandio for the records, EvidLY replaces that use. If you use it for shift execution, EvidLY sits beside it.

Does Operandio hold fire safety records?

Operandio's product is built around food safety, task execution, store visits and training. The five fire records a commercial kitchen is asked for — the hood cleaning certificate, the fire suppression service tag, the sprinkler inspection, the fire alarm test and the extinguisher tags — are outside what it describes. EvidLY holds all five with their due dates.

What does EvidLY cost compared with Operandio?

Operandio quotes custom pricing per operation. EvidLY publishes its pricing per kitchen, with a pilot for two to nine kitchens and Enterprise from ten. The full price list is on the pricing page, and the Risk Assessment costs nothing.

Can I run Operandio and EvidLY together?

Yes. Operandio runs the shift. EvidLY holds the records that survive the shift — the ones the fire marshal, the health inspector, the insurance company, the property manager and the compliance officer ask for — sealed with the date they were produced.
